Soccer and swim season are right around the corner. School is almost out! Yikes! SO, how do we keep our little gems healthy during crazy schedules. These days most of us are always on the go. Rather than grabbing a glutenous sugar laden bar..how about trying a protein snack that is healthy and fun to make!
Lets break it down old skool: Remember, 90 % of your serotonin levels come from your gut. Meaning, you are what you eat! 🙂
CHOCO CHOCO PROTEIN BALLS
(Makes about 13 1-inch balls)
1/2 cup plain hemp protein powder (Living Harvest or Nutiva recommended)
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon bee pollen (optional)
3 tablespoons unsweetened dark cacao powder or cocoa
2 tablespoons raw honey, agave, maple syrup or coconut nectar
1/4 cup tahini
2 tablespoons extra virgin coconut oil
*You can Omit Coconut Flakes. This is optional.
COMBINE YOUR INGREDIENTS. Combine all dry ingredients in a small bowl. Add wet ingredients to the bowl and mix thoroughly until well combined. Use a large spoon or tablespoon to scoop batter and roll into balls. Sometimes, its best to use your fingers!
SERVE. You can serve as is or refrigerate before serving.
