Did you have too much fun on Super Bowl Sunday? I don’t normally do this; but the spinach dip from Whole Foods was calling me. If you are like me; temptation and being around fun people entices you to drink and eat more than usual. I normally don’t drink wine on Sunday either.
If you are feeling a bit bloated, tired or stressed (tight shoulders, neck, back) you might be dealing with pesky symptoms called inflammation.
Here are a few tips for a quick post-Super Bowl recovery:
Drink lemon water in the morning. Make a warm cup of water, add in the juice from one lemon, a dash of cayenne to rev up the metabolism, and enjoy. Additionally, I add four drops of Essential Oil (liver detoxification blend) on the right side of my stomach below my ribs at night for extra liver support. The liver is active at night and you might be needing to reduce your toxic overload by easily adding a few drops to your tummy area. If you would like to learn more about essential oils click HERE.
Consume a smoothie or easy-to-digest meal in the morning (no carbs, such as eggs with spinach).
My favorite De-Bloat Smoothie is this one:
Green Smoothie Madness
• 1 1/2 cups dairy-free milk (unsweetened almond milk, rice or unsweetened coconut)
• 1/2 avocado or 1/2 banana (if you are trying to lose weight, ditch the banana)
• Handful of parsley
• 1 cup kale or spinach
• 1-2 tablespoons ground flax/chia seeds
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla (optional)
• 1.2 cup ice
Consume a warm soup or salad with clean source of protein (no hormones, nitrates, or preservatives) for lunch. (We are all busy hard boiled eggs are an easy way to add protein / vegan option try Hemp Seeds).
